The main objective of the department is to implement the office policies of the Cree First Nation of Waswanipi in fairness and consistency to its hard working and dedicated full-time permanent, full-time temporary, part-time permanent, part-time temporary, contractual, seasonal, elected and appointed employees.

We regularly review the office policies, employee benefits, structure of the governance, job descriptions, the salary scale and recommend to the Management and Leadership for any modifications or changes that reflex the current needs of the administration and maintenance for their approval.
The Human Resources Department has been providing services not only to all the employees of the organization but to all the members of the community in search of employment and/or training to its fullest and at its best.
Another objective is how we have taken the initiative to create employment for the community members and have searched funding that allows us to implement various employment programs that benefit community members of all working ages.
The purpose of these programs is to enhance the working skills and provide work experiences in various fields that will eventually either lead to permanent employment or to pursue their education in order to reach the required qualifications.
